⚙️ Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for REST and SOAP APIs
• Validate request/response payloads, status codes, authentication, and business logic
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end API testing
• Automate API test cases using tools like Postman, SoapUI, and frameworks such as Rest Assured
• Test backend services and validate database transactions using SQL
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using tools like Jira
• Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business analysts to understand requirements
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and Agile ceremonies
• Ensure API security testing for OAuth, JWT, and authentication mechanisms
• Prepare test reports and documentation for stakeholders

🧠 Required Skills

• Strong experience in API Testing (REST / SOAP)
• Hands-on expertise with Postman, SoapUI, and API automation tools
• Experience with automation frameworks like Rest Assured, Selenium (basic), or similar tools
• Strong knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and payload validation
• Experience with JSON, XML, and API schema validation
• Good knowledge of SQL for backend data validation
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
• Strong analytical and debugging skills

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• 3–7+ years of experience in QA/API Testing

🌟 Nice-to-Have

• Experience with performance testing tools like Apache JMeter
• Exposure to microservices architecture
• Knowledge of cloud environments like AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript
• ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certifications
