Senior Apigee Developer (10+ Years Experience)

Location: Tampa, FL /Dallas, TX/Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid / On-site depending on company policy)

Job Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy APIs using Apigee Edge / Apigee X
• Build and manage API proxies, policies, and shared flows
• Implement API security mechanisms such as:
  • OAuth 2.0
  • API keys
  • JWT (JSON Web Tokens)
• Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize API traffic
• Work on API lifecycle management (design, publish, secure, monitor, monetize)
• Integrate APIs with backend services (REST, SOAP, microservices)
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to define API strategies
• Ensure best practices in API governance, versioning, and documentation
• Automate deployments using CI/CD tools
• Handle logging, analytics, and reporting using Apigee tools

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in API development and integration
• Strong hands-on experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X
• Proficiency in:
  • RESTful APIs & API design principles
  • JSON, XML
  • JavaScript (for Apigee policies)
• Experience with API security (OAuth, JWT, TLS)
• Knowledge of HTTP protocols and web services
• Experience with tools like:
  • Postman
  • Swagger / OpenAPI
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud)
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
