Android Performance Engineer

• Collaborate with developers to implement performance best practices
• Conduct performance testing and benchmarking across devices and OS versions
• Optimize app size (APK/AAB), resource usage, and network calls
• Monitor production performance using analytics and observability tools
• Drive performance improvements across the development lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in Android development or performance engineering
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java
• Deep understanding of Android SDK, lifecycle, and architecture components
• Experience with performance profiling and debugging tools
• Knowledge of memory management, multithreading, and concurrency
• Familiarity with REST APIs and mobile networking concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale consumer apps or high-traffic platforms
• Familiarity with tools like Firebase Performance Monitoring, New Relic, or AppDynamics
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated performance testing
• Experience optimizing UI rendering (RecyclerView, Jetpack Compose)
• Understanding of low-level performance concepts (GC, JNI, native code)
