Accounting Manager

Position : Accounting Manager

Our client is  a vertically integrated organization operating across construction, architecture, manufacturing, and real estate development. Our mission is to accelerate housing availability by delivering high-quality homes significantly below market cost in a fraction of the traditional timeline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Month-End Close & General Ledger

Lead a 10-business-day month-end close across multiple entities and special purpose vehicles (SPVs)

Manage journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and balance sheet reconciliations

Consolidate financial statements and maintain the chart of accounts

Oversee fixed assets, construction-in-progress (CIP), and depreciation schedules

2. Project & Job Cost Accounting

Set up and manage project budgets and cost codes

Track project lifecycle from commitment through completion

Ensure proper capitalization of costs (soft vs. hard costs, interest, overhead allocation)

Prepare monthly lender draw packages with supporting documentation

3. Cash & Treasury Management

Oversee cash flow, vendor payments, and banking operations

Monitor debt covenants and manage capital calls and distributions

Develop and maintain monthly cash flow forecasts in collaboration with internal teams

4. Reporting & Financial Analysis

Prepare monthly budget vs. actual reports and KPI dashboards

Deliver clear financial insights and executive summaries

Produce investor and lender reporting packages

Assist with board-level reporting as needed

Qualifications Required

2+ years of progressive accounting experience

Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills

Strong organizational and time management abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred

CPA certification

Experience in real estate development or construction accounting

Background in public accounting

Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., Yardi or similar)
