Test Automation Architect

• Drive E2E testing discovery across a multi-application landscape (ownership, stack, integrations, environments).
• Assess current automation capability: frameworks, CI/CD integration, coverage, stability, maintainability, reusability.
• Inventory existing test assets: test cases, automation scripts, E2E flows, traceability, and reuse opportunities.
• Define and prioritize E2E scenario catalog: business flows, touchpoints, critical paths, and dependencies.
• Create the Scenario–Application mapping and heatmaps covering:
  • Scenario involvement and ownership clarity
  • Business criticality and defect trends
  • Integration complexity (interface types, failure points, coverage gaps)
  • Readiness (data, environments, CI/CD, automation feasibility)
  • Risk scoring (criticality × change velocity × defect history × dependency fragility)
• Evaluate test data and environment readiness: availability, masking, synthetic data needs, uptime/consistency.
• Recommend target-state E2E automation architecture (tooling patterns, execution strategy, CI/CD hooks, reporting).
• Define governance standards: test asset reuse, coding standards, pipeline gates, data management approach.
• Partner with Engineering/QE/DevOps to align on implementation feasibility and sequencing.
• 10–15+ years in QA/test engineering with strong E2E ownership in complex enterprise systems.
• Proven experience designing E2E automation strategy across multiple apps and integrations.
• Strong hands-on understanding of test automation frameworks and patterns (BDD, page/service models, reusable libraries).
• CI/CD and DevOps integration experience (pipeline orchestration, quality gates, reporting).
• Strong grasp of integration testing across APIs, messaging, batch, and data flows.
• Experience with test data management, masking, synthetic data, environment dependencies.
• Ability to translate business flows into test strategy and prioritization.

Tooling Familiarity (Preferred):

• Test automation: Selenium/Playwright/Cypress + API automation (RestAssured/Postman/Newman or equivalents)
• CI/CD: Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, container execution, reporting dashboards
• Test management & traceability: Jira/Xray/Zephyr/ALM or equivalents
• Observability/logs helpful: Splunk/ELK/App Insights
