Job Title: Sr SAP S/4HANA Workflow & ABAP Consultant (RISE)
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) need locals only
Visa : NO OPT/CPT

Description:
This is essentially a hands-on SAP workflow SME who can jump in immediately, clear backlog, and stabilize things without a long ramp-up.

Skills:
15+ years total IT applications
5+ years SAP (S/4HANA preferred)
Prior production support + enhancement experience (key for backlog work)
Strong communication — this person will be explaining why things broke, not just fixing them
Assess current Supplier Invoice Workflow architecture
Identify performance bottlenecks and accuracy issues
Recommend modern alternatives (e.g., Flexible Workflow simplification, BRF+ optimization, or partial redesign without heavy custom ABAP)

1. SAP Workflow Deep Expertise (non-negotiable)
Classic Workflow and Flexible Workflow in S/4HANA
Real-world experience troubleshooting workflow failures, stuck items, and misrouted approvals
Comfortable working in Supplier Invoice / MM / FI approval scenarios
Experience specifically in S/4HANA RISE environments (this weeds out a lot of candidates)

2. ABAP (debug-first mindset)
Strong ABAP debugging skills (not just writing new code)
Able to trace workflow logic, BAdIs, user exits, and BRF+ rules
Comfortable fixing workflow-related enhancements without breaking clean-core principles

3. Integration & Notifications
Extended Workflow Notifications
Integration with MS Exchange / Outlook
Understanding of email triggers, approval links, and user-experience issues
