Senior Network Engineer

Position Title : Senior Network Engineer | Azure & Cloud Network Specialist

Experience Level : 8–12 Years (Overall IT Experience)

Employment Type : Contract-to-Hire

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) IL

Responsibilities:

The client is more focused on strong Networking. Azure is required, but they prefer candidates who are very solid in enterprise networking first.

They are specifically looking for someone strong in:

* Cisco routing & switching

* Firewall management

* VPN / ExpressRoute

* Hybrid connectivity

* Network troubleshooting & performance optimization

Azure should be strong, but networking is the priority.

Required:

Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.

Architect and implement Azure networking solutions including VNETs, VNET peering, VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute.

Engineer multi-region Azure architectures to ensure high availability, resiliency, and low latency.

Lead cloud migration projects, reducing on-prem footprint and improving infrastructure efficiency.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM templates for automated deployments.

Implement and optimize network security controls using NSGs, Azure Firewall, and DDoS Protection.

Collaborate with security teams to enforce Zero Trust principles, RBAC governance, and encryption standards.

Configure and manage Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for proactive monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.

Conduct network performance tuning to reduce latency and improve application response times.

Support hybrid cloud connectivity between on-prem and Azure with secure high-throughput solutions.

Implement and support Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for critical workloads.

Provide technical leadership, documentation, and cross-team collaboration across cloud, network, and security teams.
