We have an additional opening for an SAP PPDS Consultant with 5 years of experience. This position is open to candidates located anywhere within the United States, provided they are able to work EST hours. The hiring manager is also open to candidates based in Mexico. However, strong communication skills will be a critical component of the screening process. Please note that candidates located in Mexico will need to be submitted at a lower bill rate, as previously discussed with the client.

Title: SAP PPDS Functional Consultant

Position Overview: An experienced SAP PP/DS Consultant is needed to provide ongoing operational and sustainment support in a production environment. The role will focus on incident-driven support, system stabilization, monitoring planning runs and background jobs, and ensuring integration processes remain stable as the new functionality is deployed.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end sustainment support for the S/4HANA PP/DS solution in a post–go-live production environment. The role is incident-driven within a ticket-based support model, requiring participation in daily stand-ups to review priorities, resolve high-impact issues, and ensure system stability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve PP/DS configuration-related issues, including heuristics, block planning, scheduling, and optimizer performance.
• Monitor and support planning runs, background jobs, and CIF integration processes to ensure accurate data flow and system execution.
• Analyze master data issues involving resources, PDS, production versions, and work centers to prevent planning disruptions.
• Perform basic ABAP debugging and analyze system logs (e.g., SM37, ST22) to identify root causes and coordinate fixes when necessary.
• Collaborate with business process owners, functional leads, and technical teams to assess end-to-end process impacts and implement corrective actions.
• Support optimizer performance tuning and recommend adjustments to improve planning efficiency and runtime.
• Work within ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) to manage incidents, document resolutions, and meet SLA expectations.

Must-Have Qualifications (not an implantation role, understands end to end)

• 5+ years of strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA PPDS or with APO PPDS configuration, heuristics, optimization, and block planning
• Master data management, including resources, PDS, production versions, and work centers
• Experience with CIF (Core Interface) processes and troubleshooting
• SAP Fiori and SAP GUI navigation and issue resolution
• Basic ABAP debugging for root cause analysis
• Integration knowledge with core SAP modules (SD, MM, QM, Production, IBP)
• Familiarity with ticketing and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Performance tuning of PPDS optimizer
