Quality Assurance Analyst
Job Description
Project Scope:
The Quality Assurance Analyst will support enterprise-level healthcare IT initiatives for a South Carolina state Medicaid agency. The role involves working closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to IT governance standards, quality processes, and delivery timelines.
This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in complex, change-driven environments and have strong experience in healthcare systems, particularly Medicaid.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform functional, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to identify and resolve application issues.
Develop detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and testing processes based on business and technical requirements.
Maintain full SDLC traceability from requirements through test cases and execution.
Execute manual and automated testing, including negative and usability testing.
Design and support UI testing and regression testing activities.
Participate in defect triage, retesting, and issue resolution with development teams.
Create and maintain QA documentation, metrics, and status reports.
Ensure compliance with established QA governance standards, policies, and best practices.
Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections of deliverables.
Communicate test progress, risks, issues, and gaps clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
5+ years of experience building and executing test cases within test management systems
3+ years deep knowledge of healthcare operations (Medicaid experience strongly preferred), business processes
3+ years direct hands-on experience with formal test design tools
Preferred Skills:
5+ years large enterprise or e-business systems experience.
3+ years proficient in use of manual or automated testing tools such as Azure DevOps or Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
3+ years prior experience working in a standard SDLC (waterfall methodology) & in an AGILE delivery
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance can substitute for formal education.
