Client: State of NJ
Location: Trenton, NJ (Hybrid) 
Experience: 14+
Rate: $90/hr C2C
VISA: Any Visa (I94 should fetch); No GC.

Position Summary
Seeking a BI expert to design dashboards & reports for the NJ Office of the Public Defender. You'll turn complex legal case data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decisions across the organization.
 

Key Responsibilities
Develop: Power BI dashboards & Crystal Reports for caseload management, operations & executive leadership.
Translate Data: Build intuitive visualizations from complex datasets.
Gather Requirements: Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and technical solutions.
Integrate & Model: Extract, transform, and model data from case management systems; ensure data integrity.
Optimize: Tune performance of data models, queries, and reports.
Test Thoroughly: Conduct functional testing (DAX, measures, filters), UAT, and regression testing; document results.
Train & Support: Enable end-user adoption and self-service analytics.
Govern: Adhere to data privacy and security policies.
 

Required Skills
8+ years: Power BI (Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query) & Crystal Reports.
Expert SQL for querying/transforming relational data.
Deep experience with Power BI deployment pipelines (Dev/Test/Prod) and end-to-end testing (UAT, regression).
Strong communication, analytical mindset, and collaboration skills.
Data Engineering, Architecture, Governance, and Stakeholder Leadership (12 years experience preferred).
 

Preferred
Criminal justice, public defense, or government agency background.
Familiarity with case management systems & legal operations data.
Exposure to SSRS, SSIS, or data pipelines.
Mentoring experience.

Core Competencies
