Job Role: MECM Programmatic Systems Engineer / MECM Systems Administrator/MECM Endpoint Engineer/MECM Engineer
Must be on-site five days a week in Woodlawn, MD - Locals only
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MECM Programmatic Systems Engineer/Systems Administrator to join a high-performing enterprise infrastructure team. This role focuses on managing, deploying, migrating, and maintaining enterprise-level systems and software distribution environments using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and related DevOps and mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to implement complex system changes, support software migrations, and ensure reliable infrastructure operations across multiple environments.
Responsibilities
(Including but not limited to)
- Manage and support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) infrastructure in enterprise environments.
- Install, uninstall, reinstall, configure, and troubleshoot MECM/ConfigMgr clients.
- Verify client health status, configure Client Health settings, and implement remediation activities.
- Plan and execute MECM patching initiatives and platform upgrades.
- Perform migration and installation of application code across development, testing, training, acceptance, and production environments.
- Update and maintain JCL, CLIST, and Dialog Manager scripts to support software migrations.
- Document migration and installation activities using Online Software Release Form (OSRF) and audit tools.
- Support DevOps processes using Agile methodologies and tools such as Urban Code Deploy (UCD), OpenShift, and Jenkins.
- Deploy application modules across multiple systems and platforms including CICS, DB2, WebSphere, Liberty (z/OS), Linux, and Windows environments.
- Support site-to-site package distribution, disaster recovery, and backup strategies within MECM.
- Build, configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise software distribution infrastructure.
- Maintain SharePoint documentation, work procedures, and production documentation.
- Install and maintain HFS and ZFS file systems for UNIX System Services.
- Support WebSphere Application Server (WAS), WebSphere MQ, and Java applications across Linux and cloud environments.
- Participate in DevOps meetings to enhance continuous migration and testing strategies.
- Provide trend analysis, console alerts, and health evaluation of Configuration Manager tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement complex system upgrades and infrastructure enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience working with MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) or SCCM (CM 2012 and later versions).
- Experience planning and executing MECM patching and platform-related projects.
- Strong experience deploying applications across multiple systems and environments.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server (2008, 2012, 2016) and Windows operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10).
- Experience developing or supporting scripting/programming in SQL, Java, JavaScript, VBScript, VB.NET, ASP, ASP.NET, C, HTML, XML, PowerShell, InstallShield, WiseScript, or similar languages.
- Experience migrating and installing application code across testing and production environments.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Cisco networking, Active Directory, server administration, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience managing enterprise software distribution infrastructure.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing, analyzing, and maintaining JCL in mainframe environments.
- Experience deploying enterprise application code across multiple secure facilities and environments.
- Hands-on experience with DB2 binds, CICS, and IDMS changes on z/OS systems.
- Experience managing TSO/ISPF, VSAM files, and IBM utilities for JCL procedures.
- Experience installing and maintaining HFS/ZFS file systems for UNIX services.
- Experience supporting WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and WebSphere MQ configurations.
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in cloud environments.
- Experience troubleshooting MECM site distribution, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Experience developing trend analysis reports and health monitoring dashboards.
- Familiarity with Agile DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipeline automation tools.
