Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Architect to lead architecture, modernization, and strategic initiatives for enterprise mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM mainframe technologies, system design, performance optimization, and large-scale legacy transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for enterprise mainframe platforms.
• Design and support applications running on IBM Z systems.
• Lead modernization and migration initiatives (Mainframe to Cloud / API enablement).
• Architect solutions using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and system resiliency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor development teams.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align architecture with enterprise strategy.
• Oversee performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Support DevOps enablement and CI/CD integration for mainframe environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of IT experience with strong Mainframe background.
• Extensive experience with:
  • COBOL, JCL, CICS
  • IBM Db2 (z/OS)
  • VSAM
  • TSO/ISPF
• Strong knowledge of z/OS.
• Experience with mainframe integration using APIs and middleware.
• Experience with system performance tuning and workload management.
• Strong understanding of batch and online processing systems.
• Experience leading large-scale modernization or re-platforming initiatives.
