Strong SQL Server DBA experience
Hands-on AWS experience, specifically SQL Server on AWS RDS.
Deep SQL Server replication experience
Strong AWS RDS–focused SQL Server experience or extensive replication expertise

Primary Responsibilities
Creates physical data model and maintains/modifies as needed
Maintains data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
Writes, tunes, and modifies stored procedures
Assists with complex queries
Review execution plans to determine where indexes can be built to improve
performance
Writes database documentation, including data standards, procedures and
definitions for the data dictionary (‘metadata’)
Controls access permissions and privileges
Develops, manages and tests backup and recovery plans
Ensures that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning
correctly
Conducts capacity planning
Secondary Responsibilities
Creates processes to load and scrub data
Ensures there is provision for data security and recovery control (all data is
retrievable in an emergency).
Installs and tests new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
Handles performance tuning at the query and index levels
Ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner
