Data Center Technician

• Perform hardware diagnostics and troubleshoot server/network issues.
• Decommission and dispose of equipment according to company policies.

Network & Cabling Support

• Install and manage copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.
• Label, document, and maintain cable management systems.
• Support basic network troubleshooting and connectivity verification.

Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor data center systems, environmental controls, and power usage.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, escalating issues when necessary.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory and documentation.

Security & Compliance

• Follow physical security protocols and access controls.
• Adhere to safety standards and data center operating procedures.
• Support audits and compliance initiatives as required.

Collaboration & Support

• Coordinate with network engineers, system administrators, and vendors.
• Provide remote hands support for internal teams or external customers.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in IT preferred).
• 1–3+ years of experience in data center operations or IT support.
• Hands-on experience with server hardware and structured cabling.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
• Experience with virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Experience working in Tier II/Tier III data center environments.
• Knowledge of data center best practices (power redundancy, cooling systems, etc.).
