Coupa Techno-Functional Architect
Location: Mountain View, CA (Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are hiring a Coupa Techno-Functional Architect to design, implement, and optimise Coupa Procurement solutions. This position requires knowledge of Coupa functionalities, platform capabilities, integration frameworks, and enterprise architecture principles. This role serves as an expert and primary point of contact for Coupa configuration, user support, data integration, and reporting, driving platform adoption, ensuring compliance, and aligning system capabilities with business objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Hands - On Coupa Solution Design and Implementation: Design, propose, and implement Coupa-based solutions that address identified business needs. Ensure these solutions optimise procurement operations and are scalable and efficient.
- Provide day-to-day administration, support, and enhancement delivery for the Coupa system.
- vvfAct as the primary technical point of contact with business stakeholders, implementation partners, and Coupa support.
- Participate in project requirements gathering, analysis, lead the design phase, and implementation.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration with ERP and other platforms.
- Design, develop and oversee integrations between Coupa and other applications within the ecosystem via middleware.
- Drive the system integration testing and user acceptance testing, and document necessary evidence to track the project closure. And provide hyper care support to the users.
- Provide technical guidance on Coupa REST API (JSON / XML), flat file integrations, and SFTP configuration.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and performance requirements.
- Creating, maintaining, and managing comprehensive project documentation, process flows, and SOPs
- Manage all phases of project delivery: planning, scheduling, testing, status reporting, documentation, and go-live support.
- Configure and manage Coupa features such as approval chains, punchouts, custom fields, requisition forms, user roles, dashboards, etc.
- Lead operational tasks, audit reviews, Coupa Sandbox refreshes, and Release Management.
- Conduct Coupa training sessions for internal teams and business stakeholders.
- Drive supplier enablement and configure punchouts, support vendors with cXML and lead the UAT.
- Manage Coupa support tickets and communicate resolution status to stakeholders.
- Monitor Coupa product upgrades (3 per year), engage with the Coupa community, perform performance impact analysis, provide an overview of the new features, and guide the business teams through upgrades.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automations and enhancements to existing features/integrations.
- Generate ad-hoc reports to meet the business requirements.
- Other duties as necessary in the effective performance of the role or as directed by the business stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Coupa Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Invoicing, Expenses, Supplier Management, Sourcing, Contract, and Analytics modules.
- Deep understanding of Coupa functionalities such as Chart of Accounts, Approvals, SIM Forms, content groups, account validation rules, Lookups, Lookup Values, Custom fields, Taxation process, etc.
- Hands-on experience in Coupa integrations with ERP, HR, and finance systems.
- Proficiency in REST APIs (JSON / XML) along with API Filters and Flat File approach.
- Strong background in enterprise architecture principles, data modelling, and cloud security.
- Ability to think and assess situations logically and make decisions in a highly dynamic environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to clearly document processes and requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to interact with cross-functional teams and leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 06 years of experience as a Coupa solution/technical architect.
- Coupa Certification(s) (Integration Architect, Platform, or Module-specific).
- Experience in integrating Coupa with ERP / other systems.
- Familiarity with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and best practices
- Prior consulting experience is a plus.
- Proven Coupa Implementation Experience: A minimum of five (5) full-cycle, end-to-end Coupa implementations as a lead consultant, solutions architect, or a senior technical role. Your experience should cover the entire project lifecycle, from initial discovery and design through to configuration, testing, go-live, and post-go-live support
