Job Summary
Seeking an experienced AEM Technical Lead/Architect to lead architecture, development and optimization of digital content sites. The role requires deep expertise across the AEM ecosystem and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, lead development teams, and ensure best practices across front-end and back-end integrations.
Key Responsibilities
AEM Solution Leadership & Architecture
Serve as primary technical expert for AEM-based content sites; define architecture and best practices.
Design and implement scalable, high-performance AEM solutions; drive performance optimization and robust integrations.
Provide technical direction and oversight; ensure adherence to architectural standards and enterprise-grade solutions.
Evaluate and recommend enhancements to the AEM technology stack and workflows.
Define development, deployment and governance best practices across platforms.
Ensure performance, scalability and security; integrate AEM with CRM, analytics and policy systems for unified experiences.
Technical Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead and mentor AEM developers and QA; establish coding standards and conduct code reviews.
Facilitate collaboration across technical and cross-functional global teams; support off-hours communication as needed.
Guide teams on reusable component design and AEM architecture best practices.
Front-End & Digital Experience Optimization
Maintain hands-on front-end skills (HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript) and collaborate with UX/UI to convert Figma designs into AEM components.
Leverage analytics, A/B testing and personalization to improve engagement; implement features in AEM supporting SEO and accessibility (WCAG).
Business Alignment & Global Collaboration
Translate complex business requirements into technical specs and implementation plans.
Partner with marketing, product, development and design teams to deliver scalable web solutions and support demand generation.
Support presales/solutioning with AEM-aligned strategy and estimations.
Content & Workflow Management
Oversee authoring and publishing using AEM; optimize editorial workflows and automate content processes where possible.
Customize AEM authoring interfaces to improve editorial productivity; manage DAM, metadata, tagging and versioning best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years in web development with 5+ years focused on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Deep knowledge of AEM components, templates, OSGi services, Sightly/HTL, JCR, and AEM administration (Sites, Assets, Forms).
Proven experience architecting large-scale, content-rich AEM solutions (corporate/marketing preferred).
Strong understanding of AEM performance optimization: caching, dispatcher configuration and front-end performance.
Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/Less), JavaScript; React/Angular/Vue a plus.
Proficiency in Java/J2EE; experience with RESTful and SOAP integrations.
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and cloud hosting for AEM.
Experience with web analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), A/B testing and personalization engines.
Experience establishing coding standards, code reviews and CI/CD for AEM projects.
Working knowledge of Figma and translating designs to AEM implementations.
Understanding of SEO principles and accessibility (WCAG).
Strong project management experience (Workfront, Jira) and enthusiasm for leveraging AI in workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
